About
Jötunheim Science is an organization concerned with education. We popularize science through lectures, conferences and workshops. To do this, we use tools such as intellectual games, poetry or stories, among others. This page is our first effort to popularize science through the Internet and give tools to teachers and students for their classes.
Our philosophy
We strongly believe that if education doesn’t change, nothing can improve. We would like to break myths and false beliefs that hinder learning and personal development. In Jötunheim Science we are committed to provide quality material, experiments that have been tested previously, problems that have been carefully solved, news which veracity we have verified and a list of links where we found rigor and commitment.
This Page
The project for this website was started by students at the undergraduate and doctorate degrees in Science from the UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico) in January, 2012. However, the work of the members of Jötunheim Science dates back to November 2005. We haven’t stopped our labor of popularization and we do not intend to.
This page lives from the contributions made by users. Just to think that you’re reading this motivates us to continue. You can also propose science challenges, send us news that you consider outstanding, interesting experiments and even ask questions. It all helps to strengthen what we present here. For now, all we ask is that you take advantage of the material offered here.
If you want us to visit your school or your children’s to give a workshop, lecture or conference, you can contact us through this e-mail address: joetunheim.science@gmail.com. No matter where you are, if you want to give a talk, contact us. It’s always possible to find ways to popularize science. (Today in Mexico we can move relatively easily. However, we have also given talks in France.)
