Welcome

(YOH-tuhn-haym)

Jötunheim was the world of the giants in Norse or Scandinavian mythology (i.e., that from northern Europe).

The people of this world, Jotuns (giants) were wise and monstrous at the same time. Although they sometimes meant a danger to humans, it’s in this world where wisdom was sought. Those who drank from the sources that were at the home (Heim) of giants acquired the wisdom of Mimir, the wisest of Jotuns.

This site gets its name because we believe that quality education helps us to be really great. And that we can see further “on the shoulders of giants.” Jötunheim Science is a place where we share our knowledge and material in order to improve education. Here you will find tools for teachers and  students from elementary school, high school or even college. Read more about us.

Note: Sometimes we write Joetunheim  by an orthographic agreement. The “e” represents the umlaut over the previous letter when it’s not possible to type it. But we are the same.

Here we will post entries with information about contests, shows, talks, workshops and other events of informative or educational nature.

Thank you for your visit.
